The Newest Dip
As I write this, I complete my fifteenth day of work at Learning Pool. Newly dipping my toe into LP's corporate culture, I can't help keeping a psychological weather eye out for Red Flags bobbing buoyishly on the horizon, indicative of rough water I might not know about until Too Late. Unbelievably, I haven't found any. I've spent almost twenty years as a consultant, brought in between my client and their customers to quickly develop a shared language, clarify expectations, and develop strategic plans which actually account for relevant differences. In almost every case, there are authentic dilemmas which only an outsider can fully surface in order to practice Conflict Done Well and make a real plan for sustainable change. I find in Learning Pool some of the most humane people, not only qualified and fascinated by their work, but also comfortable with acknowledging their own limitations so that they can risk failure in order to truly succeed. I can't express strongly enough how hopeful this makes me feel and inclined to leap out of bed and into my day. I suppose this is a note of thanks from the Newest Dip In The Pool, especially to all those I've met since signing on, and to say how much I am looking forward to tomorrow and to meeting and working with you all.
More succinctly, perhaps:
fortuitous dip
plunged into a learning pool
ripple-like joy spreads
