A: Lot of big names on there. Not just Musk doing a rant.
B: Should we ask chatgpt - “How do you put a genie back in a bottle?”
C: Well looking how people believed all kind of stuff on Twitter during the last years...The current systems will be fairly enough for producing a very interesting next US election.It is actually not needed to have an AGI for being dangerous. (Since no one has anyway any clue if this type of training will like all inventions before stop to give returns and peak at a certain point)Historically it is very difficult to stop weapon systems which give a clear advantage. Success was only high for systems which are only cruel without big tactical advantage.On the other hand, without AI, our shrinking workforce will start to hit us massively, even on global level...
D: 'Google parent Alphabet have also signed the petition'. Isn't that the company that silently removed the motto 'Don't be evil.' and reinstated it as an afterthought at the end of their code of conduct when folks noticed? 
This seems like a convenient way for large corps to catch up with the AI trend.That said, AI governance is such a grey area, it could probably do with some discussion before things go 'Judgement Day' on us.
