Crossing is a core archetypal structure in the Spanverse. The term is used literally across cultures to refer to all means of travel, but is also used as a metaphor for the quality of attention, applied to almost anything, that makes one aware of how, when, what, and whom one might be crossing by putting a transition into motion in order to make a transit. It is one of the few universal bases of magic/energy shifting across all relevant worlds.
