Does a pledge or even practice of civility make it more difficult to do violence? What if it were a cultural norm, especially in the midst of disagreement, to not only receive others different from oneself with curiosity and the hope for mutual respect? How would a culture craft itself so this became common practice? Is Jim Wallis on to something or the beginning of what might become something? What might be next?
