Most conflicts in civil society are in large part verbal. Words are the gateway to the mind, aligning action and intention. As the founder made clear that the purpose of aikido is not to throw down some opponent but to transform conflict in the world, why not practice that explicitly?

On Earth Day 2017, Brandon WilliamsCraig Ph.D., 5th dan, will offer a seminar as the aikido world prepares to celebrates the life of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba, on the anniversary of his death. In an adult class from 10-11:30, participants will practice Aikido 2.0, which begins with traditional aikido body movement but incorporates language and thought explicitly, on the mat, as soon as the basic movements are clear.

After an half hour to take a break, ask more questions, or experiment / integrate informally, adults and children will work together from 12-1 PM. This integration is also a rarity, but what else does our world require, especially on Earth Day, than to bring our mindful bodies and communication into balance, across generations, to learn and practice Conflict Done Well?
